Only 10th pass required. Selection has 2 stages: Prelims → Mains, with no interview. Pay is ₹18,000–₹56,900 (7th CPC Level-1), about ₹29,000–₹33,000 in hand.
What is ESIC MTS 2026?
The ESIC MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) exam is conducted by the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to recruit Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial staff for its regional offices, sub-regional offices, and hospitals across India. ESIC operates under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
Multi Tasking Staff handle essential support functions — office upkeep, file management, dispatch, photocopying, basic computer work, and assisting clerical staff. It is an entry-level central government position open to candidates who have passed Class 10 (Matriculation), making it one of the most accessible government exams in India.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria for ESIC MTS 2026
Nationality
Candidate must be a citizen of India. Citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, and certain categories of Tibetan refugees or migrants of Indian origin may also apply — refer to the official notification for full details.

🆕 8th Pay Commission Impact (Expected 2027–2028)
The 8th Central Pay Commission was constituted in November 2025. Its report is expected around mid-2027, and the implementation date has not been decided. For MTS (Level-1), unofficial estimates suggest basic pay could increase from ₹18,000 to ₹34,500–₹51,500 depending on the final fitment factor (1.92x–2.86x). DA will reset to 0% on implementation, but gross salary is expected to be significantly higher.
⚠️ These are projections based on expert estimates and previous CPC patterns. The commission has NOT yet submitted its report. Final figures await the commission's recommendations (expected mid-2027).

The application link is not live. ESIC has not released the 2026 notification yet. The steps below follow the last (2022) cycle, and we will update them when the new notice is published.

Go to esic.gov.in/recruitments (the old esic.nic.in address moved here in 2023) and open the MTS advertisement once it is published.
New Registration
Click "New Registration" and enter your name, email, mobile number. Note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password.
Fill Application Form
Log in with your registration details. Fill personal details, educational qualifications, and select your preferred region/state.
Upload Documents
Upload passport-size photo (max 50 KB, JPEG) and signature (max 20 KB, JPEG). Ensure correct dimensions as specified in notification.
Pay Application Fee
2022 fee: General/OBC/EWS ₹500 | SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-SM/Departmental ₹250 (refunded after appearing in Phase I). Pay by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. The 2026 fee will be confirmed in the notification.
Submit & Print
Review all details carefully — no correction after submission. Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
📆 3-Month Study Plan
Month 1 — Foundation Building
Start with Quantitative Aptitude basics — Number System, Simplification, Percentage, Ratio. Simultaneously begin General Awareness by reading a newspaper daily (15 min) and learning about ESIC, ESI Act 1948, and social security basics. Solve 20 Reasoning questions daily for pattern recognition.
Month 2 — Complete Syllabus Coverage
Finish remaining Quant topics (Time & Work, SI/CI, Speed-Distance). Complete Reasoning syllabus — focus on Non-Verbal Reasoning (heavily asked in MTS). English: start with grammar rules (Error Spotting, Fill in Blanks) and read one short passage daily.
Month 3 — Revision + Mock Tests
Start taking full-length Prelims mock tests — 2 per week minimum. Analyse every mock: identify weak topics and revise them. Increase GA revision with monthly current affairs capsules and free PDF compilations available online. Final 2 weeks: one mock per day with thorough analysis. Focus on time management — 60 minutes for 100 questions means 36 seconds per question.

💡 Expert Tips for ESIC MTS 2026
ESIC MTS Prelims is qualifying — only Mains marks count for final merit. Still, take Prelims seriously: if you don't clear the cut-off (45% for General, 40% OBC, 35% SC/ST), your journey ends there. Aim for 130+ out of 200 in Prelims.
Non-Verbal Reasoning is heavily tested in MTS exams. Practice Figure Series, Mirror Images, Paper Folding, and Embedded Figures daily. These are easy marks once you recognise the patterns — don't leave them for last.
General Awareness carries 50 marks in both Prelims and Mains. Read a newspaper (or an app like Inshorts) for 15 minutes daily. Focus on last 6 months of current affairs, government schemes, and ESIC-specific questions (ESI Act, social security).
Prelims: 100 questions in 60 minutes = 36 seconds per question. Mains: 200 questions in 120 minutes = 36 seconds per question. Speed is everything. Practise with a timer from Day 1. Skip questions you're unsure about — negative marking (0.25 penalty) punishes guessing.
English section is basic at the MTS level — Error Spotting, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Antonyms. Learn 10 new words daily and master the top 50 grammar rules (Subject-Verb Agreement, Tenses, Articles). This is the easiest section to score full marks in.
Take at least 15–20 full-length mock tests before the exam. Analyse every mock — find your mistake patterns. Are you losing marks in Reasoning? GA? Fix the weakest section first. Mock test scores in the last 2 weeks should be your benchmark, not first-attempt scores.
ESIC MTS has no interview — your Mains score is the final merit. Every single mark matters. Focus on accuracy over speed in Mains. Even 5 extra correct answers can mean the difference between selection and waiting list.
Check the language options in the notification when it comes out. Where the notice allows, pick the language you are most comfortable with for Reasoning, GA and Quant. The English Comprehension section tests English, so prepare for it in English.
