5Exam Pattern
Single Written Paper — 150 Questions | 300 Marks | 3 Hours | Offline (OMR) | 5 Options per Question (A–E)
| Subject | Questions | Marks | Marks/Question |
|---|---|---|---|
| General Knowledge of Rajasthan | 75 | 150 | 2 marks |
| Mental Ability & Reasoning Test | 25 | 50 | 2 marks |
| Basic Numerical Efficiency | 15 | 30 | 2 marks |
| Basic Computer Knowledge | 20 | 40 | 2 marks |
| Hindi Language | 15 | 30 | 2 marks |
| Total | 150 | 300 | 3 Hours |
⚠️ Negative Marking
1/3 of the marks assigned to that question are deducted for each wrong answer. For a 2-mark question, getting it wrong costs you 0.67 marks. Do not guess randomly — skip if you cannot confidently eliminate at least 2–3 wrong options.
💡 Important Format Note
The 2025 exam used 5 answer options (A, B, C, D, E) per question instead of the traditional 4. Candidates who fill more than 10% of questions leaving all 5 circles blank may be disqualified. Always read exam-day instructions carefully.

Register on the SSO Portal
Create or log in to your Rajasthan SSO (Single Sign-On) account at sso.rajasthan.gov.in. This is the gateway for all Rajasthan government exam applications.
Fill the Online Application Form
Fill all personal, educational, and category details carefully. Upload photograph (JPG, ≤90–100KB), signature (JPG, ≤50KB), and any required certificate scans as per notification specifications.
Pay the Application Fee & Submit
Fee payment via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or e-Mitra kiosk. In 2025, fees were: General ₹800, OBC/EBC/SC/ST ₹400 (subject to change in future notifications). Submit and download the filled application PDF for your records.
1010-Week Study Plan
Start with the history and geography of Rajasthan — these two topics alone form 50–60% of the GK section. Use a dedicated Rajasthan GK book. Read one chapter a day with bullet-point notes. Focus on facts: rivers, forts, dynasties, and dates. Make a one-page "Rajasthan at a Glance" sheet.
Cover Economy, Polity, Art & Culture, Festivals, and Current Affairs of Rajasthan. Follow Rajasthan GK YouTube channels for free daily updates. Read Rajasthan Patrika newspaper headlines daily — many Patwari questions come directly from state news. Also cover General India GK and Science basics.
Reasoning: 1 hour daily — focus on series, coding-decoding, blood relations, analogies. Numerical: 1 hour daily — arithmetic (%, profit/loss, SI/CI, ratio, time-work). Use R.S. Aggarwal for both. Aim for 80–90% accuracy in these sections — they are the scoring difference-makers.
Computer Knowledge can be mastered in 7–10 days with focused study. Cover MS Office, internet basics, hardware/software fundamentals, and e-Mitra (Rajasthan’s e-governance platform). Attempt 20–30 computer MCQs daily. Do not skip e-governance — it frequently appears in state-level exams.
Hindi needs consistent daily practice, not cramming. 30–45 minutes daily on Shudh Vartani, Vilom, Paryayvachi, and Muhavare. Attempt 20 Hindi MCQs per day from previous papers. Practice Vakya Shuddhi carefully — errors are common in MCQs even for fluent Hindi speakers.
Take 2–3 full-length Patwari mock tests per week. Analyse every mock — find which Rajasthan GK topics you are losing marks on. Revise your notes, not the entire book. Final week: only light revision and confidence-building. Sleep well the night before the exam.

13Expert Tips to Crack RSMSSB Patwari
Rajasthan GK is 50% of the paper. Do not spread yourself thin — focus deeply on History, Geography, Art & Culture, and Economy of Rajasthan. Read a dedicated Rajasthan GK book cover-to-cover at least twice. State-specific GK is your biggest advantage or weakness in this exam.
Read Rajasthan Patrika headlines daily for 15 minutes. RSMSSB frequently draws current affairs questions directly from state government announcements, appointments, and schemes. This one habit can earn you 5–10 extra marks.
Negative marking is real — 1/3 marks deducted per wrong answer. Each question now has 5 options (A–E), making elimination harder. Do not attempt questions you are unsure about. In Rajasthan GK, skip if you cannot eliminate at least 2–3 options.
Computer Knowledge is a section most aspirants ignore — and it shows in cut-offs. Cover MS Office, internet basics, e-Mitra, and DigiLocker in just 7–10 days. These 20 questions (40 marks) are relatively easy and can be the difference between selection and rejection.
Hindi section’s Shudh Vartani (correct spelling) questions are tricky even for native speakers. Keep a personal list of commonly misspelled Hindi words and revise it daily. Practice 20 MCQs daily from previous papers — pattern recognition matters more than grammar theory here.
The Patwari exam is conducted offline (OMR-based). Practice filling OMR sheets correctly — darken circles fully, do not overwrite. Carry a black/blue ballpoint pen (not gel, which may smear). Note: the 2025 exam had 5 options per question (not 4) — be prepared for this format.
Monitor rssb.rajasthan.gov.in and recruitment.rajasthan.gov.in weekly. RSMSSB notifications go live quickly and application windows are typically only 1–4 weeks. Missing the application deadline means waiting for the next cycle (often 2–3 years away).
Previous year papers are your best mock tests. RSMSSB often repeats questions or uses very similar patterns. Solve all available 2016, 2021, 2023, and 2025 papers with a timer to build speed and exam temperament.
