That era is ending. The Ministry of Railways has merged all 21 regional websites into one unified portal. The old regional sites carry an official notice right now: they will remain operational only until 31 July 2026 and will be discontinued thereafter.

What About rrbapply.gov.in? Is It Closing Too?

No — rrbapply.gov.in is not closing. This is the single most common confusion, so let us be crystal clear about the two official addresses and what each one does:

Why Did Railways Merge 21 Websites Into One?

Three practical reasons, all of which help you as a candidate:

• Less confusion. Every CEN is pan-India, but information was duplicated (sometimes inconsistently) across 21 sites. One portal means one authoritative version of every notice.
• Better reliability. Regional sites frequently crashed on result days. A single centrally-maintained portal is easier to keep online and secure.
• Safety from fakes. With 21 similar-looking official domains, scammers could easily register a 22nd lookalike. One well-known address makes fakes easier to spot — which brings us to the most important section of this article.

Beware of Fake RRB Websites — This Is the Real Danger

Whenever a government website changes address, fraudsters move fast. They register lookalike domains, copy the official design, and target aspirants with fake application forms, fake fee payments and fake "selection letters". The RRBs know this — regional boards like RRB Bhubaneswar and RRB Secunderabad carry a standing official warning to "BEWARE of FAKE websites put up by unscrupulous elements/touts" and to ignore recruitment claims circulating on social media.

After 31 July, lakhs of aspirants will type old addresses or search "RRB official website" — and scam sites will be waiting in the search results. Protect yourself with these checks:

Does This Affect Ongoing RRB Recruitments?

No. The website change does not touch any recruitment process, exam date, or your submitted application. Recruitment activity is continuing normally through the transition — CBT results, scorecards, answer-key objection windows and corrigenda for active CENs are being published as usual.

If you are preparing for RRB NTPC, RRB Group D, RRB ALP or RRB JE, nothing about your exam changes — only the address where you check updates. What Should You Do Before 31 July 2026?

A five-minute checklist to make this transition painless:

• Delete old bookmarks for any regional RRB site and bookmark rrb.indianrailways.gov.in instead.
• Keep your rrbapply.gov.in login safe — registration ID and password. That account carries forward for future CENs.
• Download anything you need from old sites now — old scorecards, region-specific notices or PDFs you saved links to. After 31 July those links will be dead.
• Warn your study group. The people most likely to land on a fake site are the ones who never heard about this change. Share the correct address, not a screenshot of a random forward.
