The latest cycle (2025) filled 687 UDC posts through the AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CBT held 25–26 August 2025); the last ESIC-run cycle (2022) had 1,769 UDC vacancies. Graduates with computer skills (age 18–27 in ESIC’s last notification) work in ESIC hospitals and offices pan-India. 1What is ESIC UDC 2026?
ESIC UDC (Upper Division Clerk) is a Group C, Non-Gazetted, Ministerial post under the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), which operates under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. Established under the ESI Act, 1948, ESIC provides health and social security benefits to workers across India, with a nationwide network of hospitals, dispensaries, and regional offices.
As a UDC, your work spans administrative duties — maintaining records, processing ESI claims, handling correspondence, data entry, and supporting the operations of ESIC branches. It is a stable, transferable central government job with structured promotions, excellent job security, and access to ESIC's own medical facilities.
In 2019 and 2022 ESIC ran the recruitment itself in three stages: Phase I (Prelims – qualifying), Phase II (Mains – merit-based) and Phase III (Computer Skill Test – qualifying). The 2025 cycle (687 posts) was instead conducted through the AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE-2025), a single computer-based test, with region-wise document verification by ESIC. The route for the next cycle will be confirmed only in its notification.
2Current Status 2026
⚠️ ESIC UDC Recruitment 2026 – Notification Not Yet Released
As on 28 September 2026, ESIC has not released a UDC recruitment notification for 2026, so there is no 2026 exam date yet. The most recent cycle recruited 687 UDCs through the AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE-2025, Notice No. 278/2025 dated 11 July 2025); its CBT was held on 25–26 August 2025 and ESIC regional offices ran document verification in February 2026. The latest UDC items on ESIC’s recruitment portal are candidature-cancellation notices for that cycle (6 July and 18 September 2026).
What about AIIMS CRE-5? ESIC is listed as a participating organisation in AIIMS CRE-5 (Notice No. 93/2026 dated 13 June 2026; applications closed 3 July 2026; CBT from 25 July 2026). We could not confirm any ESIC UDC vacancies in CRE-5, so treat ESIC UDC 2026 as TBN until ESIC or AIIMS publishes a UDC-specific notice.
Candidates are advised to bookmark esic.gov.in/recruitments and enable notifications. Use this waiting period productively — the syllabus is stable across cycles and an early start gives a major advantage.

ESIC UDC exam date 2026: To Be Notified (TBN). No 2026 notification has been released as on 28 September 2026. For reference, the last UDC exam was held on 25–26 August 2025 (AIIMS CRE-2025), about six weeks after that cycle’s notice (11 July 2025). The next exam date will be known only from the official notification.

4Eligibility Criteria
📌 Eligibility Notes
- Age is calculated as on the cut-off date specified in the official notification.
- Candidates in the final year of graduation may apply provisionally (subject to passing before joining).
- Ex-Servicemen receive relaxation as per Government of India norms.
- No minimum percentage prescribed for graduation, but candidates must have passed the degree.
- Application fee: ₹500 for General/OBC and ₹250 for SC/ST/PwBD in ESIC’s own 2022 notification. The AIIMS CRE route charges more — ₹3,000 (General/OBC), ₹2,400 (SC/ST/EWS), PwBD exempt (CRE-5, 2026). The fee for the next cycle will be in its notification.
- Age limit 18–27 is from ESIC’s last own notification; AIIMS CRE lists age limits post-wise, so confirm the limit in the next notice.

6Exam Pattern (Latest & Previous)
Latest Route: AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (used for the 2025 cycle)
- Minimum qualifying marks (CRE-5 scheme): 40% UR/EWS, 35% OBC, 30% SC/ST/PwBD.
- A skill test (typing/computer) applies where the post’s recruitment rules require it, followed by document verification.
- Each section locks when its 18 minutes end — you cannot go back.
