The next Navy Agniveer SSR/MR notification — for the 01/2028 & 02/2028 batches — has not been announced. The last two opened applications in March (29 March – 10 April 2025, and 14 March – 6 April 2026). If the Navy repeats that pattern, expect the window around March–April 2027. That is a pattern, not an official date: ⚠️ TBN.

Searching “Navy vacancy 2028”? Batches are named after the year training starts and are notified about a year earlier — so the 2028 batches should be notified during 2027.
New in 2026 — Agniveer (Apprentice): a separate entry for unmarried men with a 3-year engineering diploma (AICTE-recognised) and 10th pass. Applications for the 01/2027 & 02/2027 batches ran 5 June – 5 July 2026, with its own INET (02/2026) scheduled for August 2026. The pay package is the same as SSR/MR.
Age tip: the 01/2027 batch window was for candidates born 1 December 2004 – 31 May 2009. Each new batch shifts this window by roughly six months, so check the exact date-of-birth range in the next notification before you prepare.

Candidates are reported to need qualifying marks in each section as well as overall, so do not neglect any section. The notification is final on cut-off rules.
Check the language options in the notification and on your admit card — reports differ on whether every paper is bilingual (Hindi & English).

⚠️ The PFT is qualifying, and failing it stops you from taking the Stage-II written test. Published push-up and sit-up counts differ slightly between sources — the standards printed in your call-up letter are final.
Physical / Medical Standards
⚠️ Medical standards are strict for serving aboard naval vessels. Tattoos below elbow/neck may cause disqualification. Verify complete medical norms in the official notification.

The table shows the basic Agnipath monthly package, which is the same for SSR, SSR (Medical Assistant) and MR. Risk & Hardship, dress and travel allowances are paid on top, which is why the Government describes the first-year package as about ₹4.76 lakh, rising to about ₹6.92 lakh in year 4. Agniveers are not on the 7th CPC pay matrix, so DA revisions do not change these amounts.

8After 4 Years – Career Pathways
Regular Navy Enrolment (25%)
Up to 25% of each batch, chosen on merit, conduct and medical fitness, can be enrolled in the regular Navy — a full career with pension, Pay Level 3 (₹21,700 base) and promotion to Petty Officer and beyond. The armed forces have proposed retaining more than 25% as the first batches finish, but as on 29 September 2026 no change has been approved.
Seva Nidhi + Civilian Career (75%)
Receive ₹11.71 lakh tax-free, a Navy service certificate, and skill certification. Many companies in maritime, defence manufacturing, and shipping sectors specifically hire Navy Agniveer completers.
CAPF Priority Hiring
Government has mandated priority consideration and age relaxation for Agniveer completers in CISF, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, and Assam Rifles. Coast Guard and Merchant Navy are also popular pathways.
Merchant Navy & Maritime
SSR completers with technical trade experience are highly valued by Merchant Navy companies. Some pursue a Merchant Navy rating certificate via lateral recognition of their Naval training, opening global shipping career options.
9🗓️ 90-Day Preparation Plan
Month 1 – Foundations: SSR candidates: start NCERT Physics & Chemistry (Class 11–12) — cover 2 chapters daily. Maths: R.S. Aggarwal Chapters 1–15 (Algebra, Trigonometry, Mensuration). MR candidates: focus on Maths (Class 10 NCERT) and GK (Lucent's). All streams: Wren & Martin English grammar basics + vocabulary (Word Power Made Easy). Run 800m daily.
Month 2 – Targeted Practice: Begin MCQ topic-practice with 50–80 questions per day across all subjects. For SSR: special focus on Physics formulas and numerical problems. For MR: daily GK capsule (30 points) + GK mock sections. Start timed tests for individual sections. Increase run to 1.6 km and start push-ups/squats.
Month 3 – Full Mock Tests: Solve 5 full-length INET mock tests per week. Analyse wrong answers per subject — create an error log. Target: clear each subject cut-off in every mock. Run 1.6 km under 6 min 30 sec (women: 8 min). Complete 20 squats, 15 push-ups and 15 sit-ups (women: 15, 10 and 10).
Final 2 Weeks – Revision & Rest: Stop new topics. Revise formula sheets, GK notes, and vocabulary lists. Take 2 mocks daily focusing on accuracy and time. Maintain physical fitness but avoid overexertion. Get adequate sleep — aim for 7+ hours in the last 3 days before the exam.
