1What is Supreme Court JCA 2026?
The Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant (JCA) is a Group B Non-Gazetted post directly under the Supreme Court of India — the country's apex judicial authority. JCAs handle administrative functions, maintain case records, assist Judges and Registrars, manage correspondence, and keep the court's daily operations running smoothly.
Recruitment is conducted directly by the Supreme Court (no SSC or UPSC involvement), making this a rare, direct central government job. The pay, prestige, and job security make it highly sought after by graduates across India.
2Current Status 2026
The SCI JCA 2025 recruitment cycle is fully over — Final Result declared on 10 October 2025, document verification + medical examination completed, and selected candidates have received joining orders. The Supreme Court has NOT released an official 2026 JCA (General Posts) notification yet. Historically, SCI releases a new JCA notification roughly every 1–3 years.
On 17 April 2026, the Supreme Court released the syllabus for a separate technical post — Junior Court Assistant-cum-Junior Programmer — indicating a 2026 recruitment cycle for this IT-focused role is upcoming. This is a different post from the regular JCA and requires a B.E./B.Tech/BCA/B.Sc (CS) in Computer Science or IT. Graduates in other streams are NOT eligible for this post.
In 2025, 20 vacancies were notified for this post (Pay Level 6). Watch sci.gov.in for the 2026 notification.

13Expert Tips to Crack SCI JCA
The typing test is qualifying and conducted on the same day as the written exam. Many candidates with good written scores fail due to typing speed. Target 40 WPM well before the exam so you have a comfortable buffer on exam day.
With 50 out of 125 marks in the Objective Test plus the entire Descriptive Test in English, language proficiency is your biggest differentiator. Read The Hindu or Indian Express editorials daily. Practice précis writing weekly from Month 1.
The Supreme Court recruits its own staff. Expect questions on the Constitution, Articles 124–147 (the Supreme Court), landmark judgments, Chief Justices, and judicial procedures. This niche area is often ignored by competitors — use it to your advantage.
Candidates who clear the objective stage often neglect the Descriptive Test. You must score at least 55/100 to be eligible for interview. Practice essay topics like judicial reforms, access to justice, and AI in courts — these are highly relevant for SCI.
The gap between notification and exam is typically 4–6 weeks. Candidates who are already at 80% preparation level win this exam. Follow main.sci.gov.in and register alerts so you don't miss the notification the moment it drops in 2026.
