1What is UIIC AO 2026?
United India Insurance Company Limited, headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is one of India's four public sector general insurance companies under the Ministry of Finance. It offers policies across health, motor, travel, fire, marine, and commercial lines.
The UIIC AO post is a Class I gazetted officer position. Generalist AOs handle policy administration, claims, customer service, and branch management. Specialist AOs are recruited in disciplines such as Legal, Accounts/Finance, IT, Engineering, Agriculture, and Actuarial.

13Expert Tips to Crack UIIC AO 2026
Master Insurance GK
UIIC exams test insurance-specific GK more heavily than pure banking exams. Study IRDAI regulations, key insurance terms, types of policies, and recent sector news.
Practice Descriptive Writing Daily
The descriptive test is qualifying but crucial. Write one letter and one essay daily from Week 6 onwards. Focus on formal tone, structure, and word limit (200–300 words per essay).
Sectional Time Management
With 150 minutes for 200 questions and sectional timing, you cannot compensate time from one section to another. Practice each section within its allocated time.
Mock Tests Every Week
Start full-length UIIC AO mocks from Week 8 onwards. Analyse where you lose marks — this is more valuable than any book in the final 4 weeks.
Apply to All Four PSU Insurance AO Exams
NIACL AO, NICL AO, OICL AO, and UIIC AO share the same exam pattern and eligibility. Applying to all four significantly increases your chances of selection.
