SSC Exams 2026

The Staff Selection Commission recruits for Group B (non-gazetted) and Group C posts in the ministries and departments of the Government of India, and in their subordinate and attached offices. It is the single largest recruiter of graduates and Class 12 pass candidates into central government service.

SSC examinations are computer-based and run in tiers. Tier 1 is objective and usually screening in nature; later tiers decide the merit and, for some posts, add a typing or skill test, a physical test, or a document verification round. Most papers carry negative marking, so accuracy matters as much as speed.

Qualifications range from Class 10 for Multi Tasking Staff up to a graduate degree for Combined Graduate Level. The Commission publishes an Annual Calendar listing every planned notification and examination date, and all applications are made through a single registration on the Commission’s own portal.
